Challenges and Design Team Call

Good morning everyone...   ok..  here is the scoop.  I am going to try to have a new challenge every month.  I am going to try to have projects due around mid month.  I understand that many other blogs have due dates at the end.

Here is what I am looking for.......................

SPONSORS.....  I have sent a couple inquiries but if you want to sponsor a challenge let me know....

DESIGN TEAM:  I am also looking to put together a design team.  I think I want to start with 7..  knowing me I will probably choose more  LOL...  I am going to do my best to stick to my 7...  It will  be for a period of 6 months since right now there will only be one challenge a month unless more is necessary.  E-mail Me  if you are interested with a pic of a recent project and your crafting background.  Also if you have ever been on any other design teams and if so, which ones.  New designers welcome..  you do not need to have served on a team before to be considered.  The dead line to submit an application is next Saturday, Feb 5, 2011 at Midnight...

Don't forget about my current challenge.  Click the pic of the cartridge at the top of my blog.

Birthday Card For My Son

Good afternoon...  I am feeling a little better.  My doctor ordered me not to go to work today so I stayed home and made my son a birthday card.  His birthday was last week end but just got his address this week.  He is in basic training at Parris Island in the Marine Corp.

This card is being entered into the weekly sketch challenge at Card Patterns Challenge Blog

The Sketch

Here is my entry.

The Recipe:
  • Cardstock from JoAnn's
  • Pattern Paper Created By Me (Marine Corp Logo) in PhotoShop CS
  • Camo Ribbon from JoAnn's
  • Stamp Sets From Annie's Attic Stamp Club
  • Color Box Chocolate Ink
  • Clear Embossing Powder for Sentiment
  • White and Brown Color Pencils
  • Fisker's Border Punch
  • Round Punches
  • ATG Gun  (Yah..  got to use it again.)
I tried not to get too crazy with it considering the enviroment he is in now.

Good Morning In Blog Land

Good morning fellow and fellowette bloggers..  This is just a simple chit chat post.  Some good and some not so good..

First I got my first letter from my oldest son, Aaron yesterday.  He left 2 weeks ago Sunday for Parris Island, Marine Corp boot camp.  I am so proud of him. He is doing fine  (of course I am sure some of the letter was staged).  He just had a birthday on Sunday as well.  He loves letters...  if anyone wants to send him a birthday card, email me and I will send you his address.  He turned 23.

The not so good stuff...   please keep me in your prayers.  I have been having a lot of back problems for years.  It came to a head this weekend.  I almost could not walk.  The doctor says I have Sciatica...  pain shoots from my lower back into my right hip and down my leg.  Then it sits in my lower part of my calf and throbs.  It takes ice packs and 3 Alieve to even get a little releif.  I have to sit all day at work which doesn't help.  I had to leave early yesterday because I couldn't take it.

Ohhh  Happy Birthday to Robyn over at My Pink Stamper who turned 38 yesterday!!!!

Video #1 ... Scrap Room Woes

Hello everyone...

I just got done producing my first real video.  It is far from perfect.  I admit, I have a lot to learn about doing videos.  I don't have a camcorder so I had to use my digi camera in video mode.  However, I did aquire
Camtasia editing software which you can do normal videos or screen capture type videos like you see some of the Make The Cut and Sure Cuts Alot videos done.

This video is about an upcoming project.  I am sharing a space with a ferrett and kids.  The kids do not have enough room for their toys and I don't have enough room for my crafting.  My space is going to be moved into what is now a storage room.  It has tons of potential even if it is a small room.  But it is big enough for me and bigger than I have now.  Just be warned...  I am airing my messes.

Leave a comment with a url to a post or pic of your crafting area.  I am seeking out more ideas.

My New Scotch ATG Gun

I got my new toy errrrr  I mean tool yesterday in the mail.  I ordered the pink Scotch ATG gun, my birthday present to myself.

I can not wait to get started using it.  I have been trying different adhesives and none really measuring up to what I wanted.  I played with it a little last night and it is so easy to use.  The tape glides on with ease and once it is stuck, it is stuck.  This is a great alternative to the red gun that Scotch puts out but with out the high price tag.  This pink one was maybe half of what I would have paid for the traditional red ATG.  For those of you looking for a good applicator, you must give this one a try.  My only complaint is that it has a learning curve to loading.  It didn't come loaded.  I had to load it myself last night and it took me a good 15 minutes to get it figured out and loaded.  But, once you have done it a couple times it does get easier.

You can purchase yours below..  Compare this price to the red one which is almost $50

Winner to be announced tomorrow!

Today is the last day to sign up for my blog candy.  I will be announcing the winner tomorrow morning.  I did notice that a couple had more than one comment posted.  How I will handle this is if the number picked by random.org falls on your first post then you will be the winner.  If it falls on your second post then the winner will be the next person below your post.  I feel this is the most fair way.  One entry per person.

If you haven't entered yet, just click the Cricut head at the top of my blog

Good Luck!

First Laoyout of The Year

Good morning!  I just wanted to share my first 12 x 12 page for the year.  I need to play catch up and start getting my photos from 2010 scrapped.  This one is from the major snow storm that hit the north east US last Feb.  We were with out power for a week and had 2 feet of snow on the ground.

I used MTC to cut my title and the large snow flakes.  The snow flakes I snagged from the MTC gallery.  Don't know who created them.  The smaller snowflakes are from a MS punch.  I am also including the sketch I created.  I have only been scrapbooking for a little over a year.  I have not done very much because of time.  I am still a novice.
